Recent developments in topological insulators have inspired search for new topological phases of electron systems. First I will describe ongoing efforts towards finding a topological superconductor--an unconventional superconductor which has a full pairing gap in the bulk and gapless Andreev surface states. Next I will describe theory of new topological phases in band insulators which have robust surface states protected by point group symmetry.
