Hydrogen has great potential as an energy currency. The production, transport, storage and utilization of hydrogen present significant scientific and technical challenges. Fundamental coordination chemistry of hydrogen will be discussed, along with catalysts for hydrogen release from ammonia boranes. For hydrogen utilization, biomimetic iron complexes which are hydrogenase active site models will be presented.
