Using dipyrromethenes as truncated porphyrin frameworks, we have generated a new class of iron and copper complexes capable of C-H bond functionalization via nitrene, oxo, and carbene transfer. Results describing these reactivities and our initial mechanistic investigation will be described. Our progress with iron-mediated, C-H bond amination and olefin aziridnation catalysis will be highlighted.
