My seminar will focus on analytical chemistry methods development and applications. Topics from my research team (undergraduate and graduate students) will include methods development using inductively coupled mass spectrometry (ICPMS) to study the transfer of Pb between mother and fetus. Another topic will focus on using micro analytical techniques of Raman, FTIR, and XRF to study diamonds, questioned documents, and human spermatozoa. Forensic applications using these non-destructive in-situ micro analytical techniques will also be presented.
