The Laboratory for Surface Modification (LSM) will host the Twenty-Third Annual LSM Symposium on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. The symposium will focus on experimental and theoretical studies of surfaces, interfaces and their applications, as well as nanoscale phenomena. We will include both oral and poster presentations; contributed talks will be 15 minutes long (including short discussion).
The program will include invited "Highlight Presentations" from two speakers:
Louis Brus Department of Chemistry, Columbia University
Richard Haight IBM T.J. Watson Research Laboratory
In addition to the invited speakers, there will be a limited number of contributed presentations selected from the submitted abstracts. As usual, this meeting provides an excellent opportunity for Rutgers graduate students and postdocs to present their work in a friendly atmosphere. Of course, faculty members are welcome to speak as well.
This year we are offering a Student Prize of $150 for the best the Poster Presentation. Any student selected for an oral presentation will be welcome to present a poster as well. Note that the prize will be awarded to the first author listed for the presentation.
