Transmission Electron Microscopy

At IAMDN, we have several types of Transmission Electron Microscopes that will enable you to complete your research in the most high tech way possible:

UltraSTEM

The world leading Rutgers UltraSTEM is an aberration corrected scanning transmission electron microscope with angstrom resolution. A new monochromator yields an electron beam with energy resolution of 8 meV. Spectroscopy studies with such high spatial and energy resolution reveals excitations (vibrations, plasmons, interband-transitions and core-shell transitions) on the sub-nanometer spatial scale.
