X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) for Surface Characterization of Alternative Energy Material Research

Thursday, October 23, 2014, 12:00pm - 01:00pm
The use of XPS as a surface sensitive characterization technique will be presented for selected various alternative energy applications: fuel cell, battery, and photovoltaic research. The combination of XPS as a surface characterization technique with electrochemistry measurements to explore the surface property and catalytic/electrocatalytic activity of a material will be highlighted. The capabilities of XPS techniques available currently in BASF will be discussed. Other complementary techniques available such as ambient pressure XPS in other national laboratory will also be presented.
